In a historic sale, a remarkable 1960’s beach house located less than 50 metres from the pristine shores of Currumbin Beach has sold for a record-breaking price.

3 Fenton Place, Currumbin, sold at auction for $4,155,000 on September 10 after being marketed by Brenden Musca of Professionals Collective.

The auction opened with a bid of $2,000,000, and 32 more active bids ensued before the hammer finally fell for a lucky Brisbane family.

Auctioneer Rob Doorey, of Apollo Auctions, opened proceedings at $2m.

Adding a sentimental layer to this iconic sale is the property’s rich history.

According to records, the last sale of this property was in 1986 for $135,000 and has been held by the same family for close to four decades.

Ian and Tony, who represented their mother during the sale, fondly recalls their family’s cherished memories at the beach house.

“My parents retired from Sydney to Currumbin about 40 years ago. Being able to stroll down the beach for late night swims will never be forgotten,” said Tony.

The backyard of 3 Fenton Place also held a sweet secret—a pair of beehives.

Ian and Tony’s father, an avid beekeeper, delighted in this hobby and generously shared the honey with the local residents and neighbours.

“All the older locals would recall his honey with great fondness,” Ian proudly noted. “With sadness, we let this property go, but now it is time for another family to enjoy this great location.”

Brenden Musca, who handled this monumental sale, described the property as a rare opportunity to own a piece of Gold Coast history.

“The opportunity to own a property like this is becoming increasingly rare, and this fact was underscored by the fervent bidding at the auction.

This time capsule of a bygone era, coupled with its prime location, made it a true standout to prospective buyers.”

Large crowds were in attendance.

Mr. Musca also noted that this sale has set a new benchmark for future property sales in the area.

“The property market on the Gold Coast, and Currumbin specifically, is still booming.

We have been achieving fantastic results for our vendors, indicating a robust demand for quality properties in this sought-after region.”

Currumbin’s real estate market continues to thrive, attracting discerning buyers who appreciate the uniqueness and value of the properties in the area.
